GCPS takes the safety of the staffing team, learners and their families seriously.

Masks are worn by all staff members daily.
Masks are to be worn by all students in Grade 000, Grade 00 and Grade
R. It is not compulsory for Orange and Green group students to wear
masks as per the advice given from the Department of Health.

Upon arrival to school, all staff temperatures are taken. The sanitation
of shoes and hands are conducted before entering the building.
Temperatures are taken again at 10am daily as well as upon leaving at the
end of the day.

When students arrive daily, the adult bringing the learner to school as
well as the learner’s temperature is taken and recorded. Each learner
sanitizes their shoes and hands before entering the building.

All school bags and lunch bags are sanitized before entering the
classrooms daily.

All learners are socially distanced when eating snack or lunch as this
requires masks to be removed.

There are allocated hand washing periods throughout the day to ensure
learners are maintaining hygiene.

All surfaces are constantly sanitized throughout the school morning. An
addition, classrooms are completely sanitized at the end of every school
day ensuring a fresh start for the next morning.
When learners go to the bathroom, all toilets, handles and taps are
sanitized when done.

We pray for a time where COVID-19 comes to end, however, we pride
ourselves in taking special care with regards to hygiene and sanitation
regardless. This way of cleaning is part of our daily routine and is habitual
for our learners too.
